# LOGOS HOPE RETURNS TO KUCHING..







Two weeks ago before hb left for outstation, we decided to visit Logos Hope which has berthed at the Sim Kheng Hong Port, Pending ..about 10 mins drive from my place. The last time the ship was in Kuching was in 2011...I remembered cos every time I bought a book I normally jotted down the date. We went on a Saturday morning at about 11 am, there were less crowd then so we don't have to queue up liked what happened 2 years ago...queueing up under the hot sun is no fun..trust me!

Logos Hope is a book paradise for book worms..also dubbed as the world's largest floating book fair. And I can say that some of the books are quite reasonably priced...my daughter bought a few teenage novels at 25 units that is only RM2.00..I bet you can't get that price in town...so my daughter 'sapu' quite a number...and a few days later when her school organised a trip there, I saw that she bought a few more novels...and other genre too with her own pocket money. I was quite surprised that she was willing to spend on books cos I have been trying to get her to read ever since she started school ..bought her lots and lots of story books but it was only a couple of years ago that  she finally showed some interest in books and started buying them herself..

I managed to grab a few books too...love the smell of new books..hmmmm..and we spent about an hour browsing through.... I'm looking forward to its next visit..in another 2 years!...Okey..we will be waiting!

# KACANGMA - (My Style)





Lama dah plan nak masak kacangma sendiri...sebab tiap kali makan yang orang lain masak memang tak puas hati...tak menepati cita rasa kita langsung...lagi2 yang dijual dikedai makan..memang sah2 nak untung lebih.

So yesterday...kita rajinkan diri untuk memasak yang satu ni...kira 2nd time lah cuba...suatu masa dulu pernah try masak tapi tak berapa nak menjadi..masa tu belum ada internet...so harapkan buku resipi yang satu tu saja..oleh sebab instruction tak berapa detail..sampai hangus daun kacangma kita goreng.

Teringat lagi masa confinement 12 yrs ago...my mum masak kacangma almost everyday selama sebulan (tapi kita tak pernah muak ataupun jemu)...tiap2 hari dia akan masak awal2 pagi so by lunch time my hb akan singgah dirumah my mum untuk mengambil kacangma yang hot from the stove for my lunch. Itu lah first time kita merasa kacangma yang kaw2 punya....sampai sekarang masih teringat..tak leh lawan dengan yang lain..still the best ...tapi yang lucunya...my mum tak ingat lagi cara nak masak kacangma bila di tanya..ialah mungkin lama sangat kot dia tak masak benda tu..hehehe.

Dua tiga hari yang lepas kita dah google di internet...selongkar blog2 masakan...macam2 cara dia orang masak, ada yang mengunakan kicap, sos tiram dan segala macam rempah ratus...tapi kita pefer rasa yang authentic punya...yang orang dalam confinement selalu makan tuuu. So terpaksalah main agak2...yang kita pernah dengar dari pakar2 masak ...tak banyak ingredients...yang basic hanyalah ayam, halia, kacangma dan alcohol...tang sukatan pula main agak2 juga. Terpulanglah kalau nak rasa kaw2...tambah halia dan jangan masukan air. Kita guna tuak sebab ada stock yang orang bagi tapi tak da sapa yang minum...dah 2, 3 tahun tersimpan dalam cabinet dapur. Tuak takda tarikh luput..makin lama makin ummph!

Sebenarnya cara memasak agak simple je...tapi part menyediakan ingredient tu yang mengambil masa sikit.
Kalau sapa2 nak cuba masak... nah, ni resipi yang main agak2...(cara saya..ok!)

Ayam  (1 kg +-, potong kecil)
Halia   ( 1 cawan kecil..boleh kurangkan atau tambah)
Kacangma  ( 3/4 cawan - selepas ditumbuk ia akan menjadi lebih kurang 2 sudu besar saja)
Alcohol-rice wine/tuak/langkau  (1 cawan- boleh kurangkan atau tambah)
Minyak bijan ( 2 sudu besar)

1) Goreng kacangma tanpa minyak sampai bertukar warna...jangan hangus sudah, lepas tu tumbuk hingga  lumat.
2) Parut/tumbuk halia dan perah airnya...simpan air sementara hampas halia digoreng dengan minyak bijan sampai wangi.
3) Masukkan kacangma dan ayam...gaul sekejap baru masukkan air halia dan alcohol (tuak)...kalau tak nak kaw sangat ataupun suka yang berkuah tambahkan sedikt air biasa. Biar air menutupi ayam.
4) Tutup kuali dan gunakan api yang sederhana, biarkan selama 20 min atau sampai ayam masak. Kalau suka boleh tambah alcohol lagi tapi yang ni optional.
